NIGERIA @62: OYO MMPN URGES NIGERIANS TO PRAY.

As Nigeria marks its 62nd Independence Anniversary, the Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria, MMPN Oyo State Chapter has called on Nigerians to pray fervently for the nation to overcome its myriad of challenges.

The call was contained in a Press Statement issued to congratulate Nigerians on this year's independence day celebration by Oyo MMPN Chairman, Alh Adebayo Abdur-Rofih.

The Association in the statement quoted Quran Chapter 40 verse 60 where Allah directs His servants to call upon Him with an assurance that their prayers will be answered, and charged Nigerians not to relent in their prayers for the nation's leaders as well as for a better, more prosperous and secured nation

" We need to increase our supplications to Allah at this period. The situation has become unbearable to say the least. We have to be sincere and more consistent in our prayers to Allah especially on the current socio-economic and political crises affecting our country.  Inflation has continued to bite harder. Insecurity has become a cankerworm. Food, accommodation and other basic needs are gradually getting out of the reach of the residents. This is highly disturbing and challenging. We should see it as a trial from Allah and He has promised ease after hardship. The help of Allah is near if we can increase our faith in Him, seek His forgiveness, change our evil and sinful ways and increase our acts of worship to our Creator." The statement read.

Oyo MMPN further urged Nigerians to continue to wish the nation well and avoid saying negative things about the country which remains the giant of Africa

Oyo MMPN also charged Nigerians to use the forthcoming General election to elect trusted and dynamic leaders who will use their positions and the nation's resources to better the lots of the country.

"In the next few months, we will enter election year. We must participate in the election process . We must vote only for credible candidates in 2023 because lack of good leaders and governance still remains the bane of development in our dear country. " Oyo MMPN stated.
