A 35-year-old man, Emmanuel Urhobocha, is believed to have taken his own life in his apartment on Alafia Street, Sango-Ota, Ado-Odo Ota Local Government Area, Ogun State. The Ogun State Police Command reported that the incident occurred around 9:00 a.m. on Friday, August 30.
According to police spokesperson Odutola Omolola, Urhobocha’s roommate, Obabiyi David, had previously visited the Sango-Ota Police Division to report that Urhobocha was acting erratically and had attacked him with a knife. David sustained injuries from the attack.
Police officers were dispatched to Urhobocha’s residence but found the room locked from the inside. They forced the door open and discovered Urhobocha lying face down in the apartment. A container of insecticide was found beside his body.
Omolola stated, “He was found dead in the apartment, and despite being rushed to a local hospital, he was pronounced dead by the attending doctor. His body has been sent to the morgue for an autopsy, and the incident is currently under investigation.”
