The Oyo State Post-Primary Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) Pastor Akinade Alamu has declared that the names of the shortlisted teachers would be released soon.
Pastor Alamu stated this while featuring on a Yorùbá Language TV program today (Monday 9th September, 2024) in Ibadan.
According to him, "the 7,500 successful candidates won't resume on first day of resumption but will resume within this first term as approved by His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde.
"This without doubt would bring great intervention in the Education sector of our beloved state.
"I commend His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde for working his talks on Education Intervention of Oyo State," Alamu submitted.
He described Makinde as a strong supporter of education, noting that he recognised the need to fill the vacancies in secondary schools despite the previous recruitment exercise.
Recall that Oyo State Post Primary School Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) had scheduled the computer-based test for teaching staff applicants which started on Monday, July 29 and ended on Friday, August 2, 2024 where only 9,000 candidates out of 52,000 candidates that sat the CBT scored 50 and above benchmark to qualify for the next stage of the recruitment exercise.
Alamu said in the statement that the commission had set 50 per cent as the minimum cut-off mark for qualification to the next stage in the recruitment exercise.
END.
