Hon Taofeek, in a statement by his Media Team on Tuesday stated that the foremost monarch “personifies greatness and honour.”
He added that the tenure of the monarch, who he described as a royal pillar and custodian of Lagos great values, rich history and tradition, has witnessed huge successes, unprecedented growth and development in his domain.
The statement quoted the governor as saying: “On behalf of my family, political associates and well-wishers, I celebrate our revered father and monarch, the Ọba of Lagos, His Imperial Majesty, Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Babatunde Osuolale Aremu Akiolu (I) as he on his 81st birthday today.
“Kabiyesi has been our royal pillar and custodian of the great values, rich history and tradition of our people.
“His tenure since 2003 has been coinciding with huge successes, unprecedented growth and development of his domain.
“Oba Akinolu has continued to personify greatness, honour and candour and he has continued to be an exemplar as a royal father and elder.
“Kabiyesi, as you add another year, may the Almighty God uphold you and imbue you with good health and agility to continue to lead our people.”
