The Special Adviser to Gov Makinde On Education Intervention, Honourable Oloye Suraj Abiodun Tiamy has sent greetings to both Muslims and Christians as they fast Ramadan and Lent simultaneously saying, religion tolerance is a key to national unity, tasked both adherents to use the sinless period to pray for country’s Peace and Economic Recovery.
Tiamy gave this charge in his congratulatory message to both Muslim and Christian Faithfuls, released in Ibadan on Wednesday Morning by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Sanusi Abdullahi Oyelekan, calling on all to cherish the period and use it to seek forgiveness; foster the bond of harmony; pursue peace as well as economic recovery in the country.
In his statement, “I say Ramadan Kareem to all Muslim Ummah and happy Lent period to every Nigerian Christian. Lent fasting is a period of self-discipline and prayer that involves reducing food intake and abstaining from meat.
"Let us use this period to pray for the economic recovery, peace and success of our Country, Nigeria.
“Let us cherish this moment and use it to seek reconciliation, foster the bond of harmony, pursue unity and justice in our nation. Let us exemplify charity to all within our reach and means.
“May the Almighty accept our supplications and grant piety, strength to finish very strong ”, Tiamy prayed.
