Contrary to the reports going viral that the Executive Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Hon Kazeem Adeyemi Gbadamosi was seeing shooting and causing panic at a social function, an eyewitness at the event who spoke on condition of anonymity gave the reason LG Boss collected the gun from local security personnel at a social function on Friday in order to scare away the gunmen.
He said LG Boss was shot at twice by some gunmen and he had to seize a gun from one of the local security operative so as to protect people at the gathering.

While responding to GLOBAL REPORTERS NEWS on chat, the eyewitness said “I was in attendance as at the burial program at Elewuro Akobo in Lagelu Local Government Area of Oyo State as part of the dignitaries invited.
“The executive chairman of Lagelu Local Government Hon. Gbadamosi Kazeem arrived at the venue around 1:00pm peacefully and no panic whatsoever.

“However, the arrival of one of the Aspirants for Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency, Adetokunbo Abideen Adeaga with some thugs in black dress around 3:00pm put entire guests under threats and panic.
“When Adeaga with his thugs moved closer to where the executive Chairman Lagelu Local Government Hon. Gbadamosi Kazeem sat with other dignitaries as one of the thugs released a gun shot. This got attention of Hon Gbadamosi as Chief Security of his Local Government, who tried to resist such reckless move to protect other dignitaries seated by collecting the gun and chased the thugs away.
“The bullets splashed on me and other guests. It was a bad experience for me as I also felt aimed by the thugs being one of the dignitaries at the function. “What I will say here is that, Hon. Gbadamosi Kazeem’s bravery saved the entire gathering by chasing those thugs away who might be termed as Gunmen.
"In fact, after the incident, the guilty was written all over Adeaga’s face as seen pleading with the LG Boss Hon. Gbadamosi Kazeem that those guns were not directed at anyone seated", Eyewitness submitted.
GLOBAL REPORTERS NEWS earlier gathered that the Executive Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Hon Kazeem Adeyemi Gbadamosi already spoke to the newsmen on the matter and charged the Police and the Department of State Security Service (DSSS) who were at the event to investigate the matter.
In his words, “Initially, I did not want to talk on this matter because it all happened in the presence of men of the Directorate of State Security (DSS) and the Nigerian Police.
"What came to my mind when the shooting was ongoing was that it was a deliberate attempt to kill me just like they killed two lawmakers from our constituency, late Honourable Segun Oladimeji a.k.a Segelu and Hon Olatoye a.k.a Sugar. I collected a gun from the security personnel to defend myself and other dignitaries seated. If I did not do that at that point in time, we would have been saying something else by now", LG Boss stated on Telephone.
To this end, it is advisable that all security agencies should be on their toes in order to ensure security of lives and property of the citizens especially as 2023 general elections approach.
