Ar-Ridoh Empowers Youths With ICT, Leadership Training In Ibadan, Kaduna, Others

A non-governmental organisation with mission to empower Muslim youths, Ar-Riddoh International Islamic Foundation has successfully completed the second annual training of over 250 Muslim youths in digital literacy, leadership training and Qur'an proficiency.

The training was facilitated by Ar-Riddoh International Islamic Foundation towards achieving the foundation's vision 2030 of equipping 10,000 Nigerian youths with the vocational skills, digital literacy, leadership acumen and Qur'an competence.

The Advance Vacation Course features intensive training in Desktop Publishing, Web Designing, Classes of Maturity, Challenging World, Steps towards success and Skills acquisition on Handset repair, Catering, Baking and others.

During the graduation ceremony in Ibadan, the Founder, Ar-Riddoh International Islamic Foundation, Sheikh Muhammadu-Jamiu Abdulgafar harped on the necessity of youth empowerment to forestall crimes and make them self-employed and economically independent.


Sheikh Abdulgafar explained that similar training is ongoing in Kaduna for about 300 ladies, while efforts were being made to undertake another seminar at Anambra as a pilot state in the Southeast.

The Founder of Ar-Riddoh International sought government, corporate organisations and well meaning individuals collaboration to spread the programme across the country for an all inclusive youth empowerment.

"This training is to equip our youths between 15-25 years with up-to-date skills for them to be at par with their contemporaries across the world", he declared.

In his remarks, the chairman on the occasion, Alhaji Kazeem O. Ige who is the Chief Executive Officer, Harmony Breakthrough Finance Company, Dugbe, Ibadan, advised the graduands to be visionary, remain focused and dedicated to realise their set goals.

"I want to advise you: use the skills acquired from this training to become self-employed, you must not allow distractions, set goals to become successful and be prayerful", Ige counseled.

Alhaji Ige also appealed to government to support Ar-Riddoh International Foundation to groom world class youths.


In a lecture, the Chief Missioner, Muslim Community of Oyo State, MUSCOY, Dr Daud Amoo-Alaga encouraged the younger generation to incorporate the knowledge of ICT alongside their academic pursuits. 

Dr Amoo-Alaga maintained that learning to do old things in new ways would make them suitable for 21st knowledge trend.

According to him, "parents should support their children for career progression; they need moral and financial supports to conduct themselves in manners pleasing to Allah".

The Chairman, Ibadan North East local government, Alhaji Ibrahim Akintayo represented by the Leader of the House, Hon. Abdulmajeed Igbalajobi while commending the organisers for the laudable efforts said the training would have multiplier effects with good results.

High points of the event included Qur'an recitation, presentation of certificate to graduands, cash gift and consolation prizes for outstanding performance as graduating students promised to utilise their newly acquired skills for optimal results.
