The year 2012 Lagos Zone Mass Communication graduates of the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria also known as Golden Graduates of the Institution due to their graduation that came simultaneously with Golden Jubilee of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria reunited on Saturday (11th November, 2023) after 11 years of their departure.
The event which held at Officers' Mess of the Ikeja Cantonment in Lagos had in attendance 17 members of the set.
While giving his opening remarks, the Coordinator of the Zone, Mr Sanusi Abdullahi Oyelekan said, he was overwhelmed seeing his colleagues after such longer years and stated that there were many achievements if they should embrace togetherness.
He thanked God for keeping them till the moment, appreciated those who had contributed to ensure that the event came to fruition.
Sanusi said, "I will like to first thank God for keeping us alive and appreciate all of us that contributed to the realization of this event.
"Without mincing words, there are many great achievements in staying connected to each other irrespective of our present levels in life as we have seen many of us in greater heights of their respective professions which can also be of great assistance in bringing others up through connections.
"As the popular saying goes 'Together We Stand, Divided We Fall', let us come together to achieve many great things in life because God that previously joined us together for four years has the reason", Sanusi said.
While commenting, Mr Hamza Abbas Oladimeji (Dimex) who participated virtually also expressed joy over the meeting and appreciated the Planning Committee for coming up with that within shortest period of time.
Also, the group utilized the opportunity to remember some of the its deceased members such as Uthman Rasheed, Abubakar Siddiq and Lami Kassy and prayed for the repose of their souls.
While giving the vote of thanks, Planning Committee Chairman, Mr Sulaiman Gbenga Idowu appreciated the Set's Class Representative, Bridgestone Karma Faith, Lagos Zonal Coordinator, Sanusi Abdullahi Oyelekan, his fellow planning members and their members home and abroad for all their wonderful contributions despite the short notice.
The occasion was graced by Sanusi Abdullahi Oyelekan, Umar Ruth, Chika Martins, Doris Eze, Agnes Simon, Abdullahi Ibikunle, Kolawole Victor, Gbenga Daniel, Hassan Hameed, Hamzah Abbas Oladimeji, Patrick Olalekan, Sulaimon Gbenga, Chinenyen Anumudu, Shola Bamisaye, AbdAzeez Muinat, Ozeh Jazinta, Yossi Zamani.
The highlights of the event were words of encouragement from the members present, sharing of past experiences, menu-menu and snapping of group pictures among others.
