The acting Governor of Oyo State, Bayo Lawal, has on Friday visited Gbepakan village in the Saki West Local Government Area, following a recent attack that resulted in multiple fatalities. The village was assaulted by unknown attackers on Thursday.
During his visit, Lawal reassured the residents that the state government remains committed to protecting lives and property.
He emphasized that under Governor Seyi Makinde’s leadership, the administration has consistently invested heavily in security to safeguard the state.
Lawal also promised immediate assistance for the victims, including essential materials to address their urgent needs.
He stated, “We are here to assess the aftermath of the tragic incident where approximately ten residents were killed by unidentified attackers.
"Our visit is to offer condolences and reassure the community that such attacks will not be tolerated in our state.”
He further affirmed, “Our commitment is to uphold peace and ensure that all citizens, regardless of tribe or ethnicity, can live, work, and do business without fear.
"We are resolute in our fight against crime and will not allow it to take hold in any part of the state," he said.
