One of the leading aspirants for Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency seat under the platform of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Honourable Oloye Suraj Abiodun also known as Hon Tiamy has congratulated His Imperial Majesty Oba Atanda Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III on his 51st year of coronation as the 45th Alaafin of Oyo kingdom.
Hon Tiamy in a statement released by his media aide, Sanusi
Abdullahi Oyelekan in Ibadan described the monarch as a father, a pacesetter
and statesman whose reign for decades has yielded overwhelming development,
peace and breakthrough for Yoruba sons and daughters globally.
Hon Tiamy extolled the Alaafin of Oyo’s courage in upholding the values
of integrity, hard work and search for knowledge, which had been the hallmark
of the great Oyo Empire.
Hon Tiamy expressed belief that the Oyo monarch’s
51 years on the throne of his forefathers had been most remarkable for the
entire dynasty.
According to him, this is illustrated
by Alaafin’s contributions to the educational, social and cultural development
of the people, both at home and abroad.
The statement
reads, “Baba’s tremendous effort and wise counseling in 51 years of reign over
his subjects records overwhelming development and better positioning of sons
and daughters of Yoruba race globally.
“Iku Baba Yeye, Alase Ikeji Orisa, Oba tin fi
Oba je, I wish Baba many more healthy years on the throne and long live the
Kingdom of Oyo” the statement concluded.

18, 1970, was the actual day Prince Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi was consecrated as
the Alaafin of Oyo Empire by Colonel Adeyinka Adebayo, Governor of the old
Western Region.
