51Years on Throne: Hon Tiamy Extols Alaafin of Oyo

One of the leading aspirants for Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency seat under the platform of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Honourable Oloye Suraj Abiodun also known as Hon Tiamy has congratulated His Imperial Majesty Oba Atanda Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III on his 51st year of coronation as the 45th Alaafin of Oyo kingdom.

Hon Tiamy in a statement released by his media aide, Sanusi Abdullahi Oyelekan in Ibadan described the monarch as a father, a pacesetter and statesman whose reign for decades has yielded overwhelming development, peace and breakthrough for Yoruba sons and daughters globally.

Hon Tiamy extolled the Alaafin of Oyo’s courage in upholding the values of integrity, hard work and search for knowledge, which had been the hallmark of the great Oyo Empire.

Hon Tiamy expressed belief that the Oyo monarch’s 51 years on the throne of his forefathers had been most remarkable for the entire dynasty.

According to him, this is illustrated by Alaafin’s contributions to the educational, social and cultural development of the people, both at home and abroad.

The statement reads, “Baba’s tremendous effort and wise counseling in 51 years of reign over his subjects records overwhelming development and better positioning of sons and daughters of Yoruba race globally.

“Iku Baba Yeye, Alase Ikeji Orisa, Oba tin fi Oba je, I wish Baba many more healthy years on the throne and long live the Kingdom of Oyo” the statement concluded.

November 18, 1970, was the actual day Prince Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi was consecrated as the Alaafin of Oyo Empire by Colonel Adeyinka Adebayo, Governor of the old Western Region.
