Honourable Oloye Surajudeen Abiodun Tiamy on Saturday congratulated the entire Oyo State Muslims and all Nigerians by extension on the New Islamic Year 1444A.H which commemorates the migration (Hijrah) of Prophet Muhammad (May Allah's Peace and Blessings be upon him) from Makkah to Madinah urging them to have a deep reflection on the great lessons the Hijrah symbolizes.
This was disclosed in a statement signed in Ibadan by Mr Sanusi Abdullahi Oyelekan, Special Assistant on Media to the Distinguished Honourable Tiamy, urged People to use the period to reflect and live their lives based on the teachings of Islam and practice of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
“On the occasion of the Islamic New Year 1444A.H and the commemoration of the Hijrah of our beloved Prophet of Islam from Makkah to Madinah, I congratulate all Muslims in Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency in particular and Nigerian Muslims in general. And I urge Muslims and other citizens to imbibe the lessons of compassion, peace, and support for one another. I wish all Muslims a blessed year,” Hon Tiamy was quoted to have said.
Hon Tiamy also commended the Oyo State Governor, His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde for making it worthy of reflection in the declaration of Public Holiday. This according to Tiamy will enhance reflections on the importance and historic significance of the Hijrah and the overall journey of the Prophet (PBUH) from Makkah to Medina in 622 AD.
