INT'L YOUTH DAY: HON TIAMY EXTOLS YOUTHS, TASKS LEADERS TO CREATE CONDUCIVE ENVIRONMENT FOR YOUTHS.

 A Chieftain of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo state, Honourable Oloye Suraj Abiodun Tiamy has commended the youths while celebrating them for their resilience towards addressing many challenges in the society especially during this time of social insecurity and charged Nigerian Leaders to create enabling environment for the youths to thrive in their chosen endeavors.

Hon Tiamy in his message to celebrating the World International Youth Day with the 2023 theme" "GREEN SKILLS FOR YOUTH: TOWARDS A SUSTAINABLE WORLD" which is a UN-designated day for the recognition and celebration of youths around the world.

Distinguished Honourable Tiamy went on to call on leaders across Africa to work towards a peaceful and inclusive society so that youths can meaningfully contribute towards the growth and development of the African continent through this year's theme.

This was contained in a statement released in Ibadan on Saturday evening by Mr Sanusi Abdullahi Oyelekan, the Special Assistant to Hon Tiamy on Media and Publicity to mark the day, extolled the patriotism of African youth including himself as a vibrant youth and commended them for the various roles they have been playing towards addressing the many challenges of the continent. 

The statement reads: "On International Youth Day 2023, we celebrate youth across Africa for their resilience, patriotism, and for the works they do towards addressing the many challenges in our societies especially during this time of insecurity.

“I salute the resilience and creativity of our youths which I'm part of on a day dedicated to us as we continue to be the pride of our dear continent.

“When we perform excellently at the Olympics and other sporting events, it is because of the great Nigerian youths. 

“In fact, when Nigeria’s economy became the largest economy on the African continent, it was and is because of our youths.

“Nigeria and indeed the world has no greater asset than our youth and that will continue to be my personal inspiration.


"Today, we renew our call for an open society across the nations of Africa. An environment that is peaceful, inclusive, just and tolerant is what we need to develop. This is the atmosphere needed for youth to effectively utilize our talents and skills and contribute meaningfully towards change and sustainable development in this continent," Hon Tiamy concluded.
