The HelpLine Global Welfare on Monday 10th April, 2023 equivalent to 19th Ramadan, 1444A.H rolled out Ramadan food packages to great numbers of widows in Abẹ́òkúta and its environs held at Abeokuta South Local Government Annex Office, Pansheke, Abeokuta Ogun state.
HelpLine Global Welfare is a charity foundation officially launched during Ramadan 1443A.H to cater for all less privileged ranging from Widows, Orphans, among other needy in the society.
In his opening speech, the Director of the foundation, Alhaji Imam Jamiu Adeyanju ably represented by Barrister Bushroh Parieso Titilope (Esq) who is also the General Secretary of the foundation said, among the foundation's visions is to reach out to all the less privileged in the society especially, the widows.
According to him, "Widows in our society are going to through a lot of difficulties and it is very important for all right thinking individuals to take care of the widows which automatically leads to taking care of the Orphans.
"The foundation has been assisting the Orphans to complete their school fees in all levels of education and recently, it obtained UTME for selected orphan with complete SSCE". Adeyanju said.
He however thanked all the donors for making this event a reality and called on those donors home and abroad not to relent in their efforts to ensure the less privileged in the society are benefited from their God given wealth.
Speaking on the topic "Women and the Challenges of Widowhood", the event's Guest Lecturer, Alhaji Imam Shafii Omojole, who is also the coordinating Imam, Federal Secretariat Muslim Community, Oke-Mosan Abẹ́òkúta Ogun state, did justice to the given topic saying, all women must be able to behave well with their husbands' families before they become widows so, they won't have to face much difficulties in case they found themselves in this condition of widowhood.
According to Alhaji Omojole, "All women are enjoined to be well behaved to their husbands and their families because that's practice of Islam. Islam is against you and your husbands as could cost you many things should your husband leave you behind.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of the Ramadan Food Package to great numbers of the selected widows whilst the Vote of Thanks was given by the South West Coordinator of the Foundation, Malam Sanusi Abdullahi Oyelekan.
