HelpLine Disburses Ramadan Food Package To Over 50 Households

A Non-profit charity organization, HelpLine Orphans and Widows Welfare Foundation has on Thursday 21st March, 2024 equivalent to 11th Ramadan, 1445A.H touched the lives of over 50 families by rolling out Ramadan food packages to widows and needy alike in Abẹ́òkúta and its environs.



HelpLine Orphans and Widows Welfare Foundation is a non-profit organization officially launched during the 1443A.H Ramadan to cater for all less privileged especially the Widows, Orphans, among other needy in the society.

In his opening speech, the Director of the foundation, Alhaji Imam Jamiu Adeyanju ably represented by Malam Sanusi Abdullahi who is also the Coordinator of the foundation said, among the foundation's visions is to reach out to all the less privileged in the society especially, the widows, orphans and the likes. 

In his statement, "All needy especially widows in our society are going to through a lot of difficulties and it is very pertinent for all right thinking individuals to take care of the widows which means taking care of the Orphans.


"The foundation has been assisting the Orphans to complete their school fees in all levels of education and recently, it obtained UTME forms for some selected orphans which prerequisite is to have complete SSCE results", Sanusi said. 

He, however, thanked all the donors and the members of working committee for putting ideas together to make this event a reality and sought for more donors home and abroad so, the less privileged in the society could benefit from their God given wealth.


Commending the efforts of the HelpLine Orphans and Widows Welfare Foundation and the brains behind it, Number one citizen of the Abeokuta South Local Government Area, Hon Omolaja Ayodele Majekodunmi who graced the occasion with his entourage said, HelpLine was a great initiative which everyone should embrace cause government could not do it alone. He encouraged members of the HelpLine not to relent in their efforts to ensure the continuous impacts on the society.

Speaking earlier on the topic "The Inevitable Realities: Navigating Life's Trials and Tribulations", the event's Guest Lecturer, Sheikh Imam Bashir AbdLateef of the Crescent University, Abeokuta Ogun state, said, no one could escape the Life trials no matter what, that everyone has a sad and happy days in record.


According to Sheikh Bashir, "Everyone has sad and happy moments even all the Prophets of Allah had their trials and in fact, theirs were enormous to bear so, life trials should not make one to start moving around and start seeking assistance from where there is none. 


"The trial of this present time in Nigeria is hunger but we should not misbehave as it is just a season which shall pass," he encouraged. 

Speaking further, the Guest Lecturer also commended Abeokuta South Local Government Hon Omolaja Ayodele Majekodunmi for granting an approval to build Mosque within the Council premises, saying it was the best anyone could do for the Muslim community especially during the Month of Ramadan. 


The highlight of the event was the disbursement of the HelpLine Widows and Orphans Welfare Ramadan Food Package to over 50 selected widows as assisted in the presentation by the Chairman Abeokuta South Local Government Hon Omolaja Ayodele Majekodunmi whilst the Vote of Thanks/Suspension prayer was said by Alhaji Muslihudeen Kuforiji, the Imam of Abeokuta South Local Government Secretariat, Ake.
